ASO Score: Audit Your App Store Listing

Paste the public URL of any app on the App Store or Google Play. The tool reads the listing, scores five areas out of 100 and lists the fixes in priority order. It only sees what the public store page shows, so it never guesses at your keyword field.

The listing

Any public listing works, including a competitor's. Apple: the URL with id123456789. Google: the URL with ?id=com.example.app.

Your ASO report

Paste a store URL on the left and press the button. The report takes 20 to 40 seconds.

Enter your email to see the report. We send a copy and nothing else. No sequence, no sales call unless you ask for one.

Want the fixes done, not just listed?

ApsteQ runs ASO, paid user acquisition and retention for apps. If the score is under 60, the first call is a working session on the listing.

What the ASO Score checks

The score covers the five parts of a listing that the store algorithms and the humans scrolling past both react to. Each is scored 0 to 100 and weighted into the total.

AreaWeightWhat is checked
Title and subtitle25Keyword use, length against the 30-character limits, clarity of what the app does
Description25Whether the first three lines carry the hook and the main keyword, structure, feature clarity, a call to action
Ratings and reviews20Average rating and rating volume against what the category usually shows
Visuals20Screenshot count against the 10 slots on Apple and 8 on Google Play, and whether the set looks complete
Freshness and localisation10How recently the app was updated and how many languages the listing supports

The public store data is read first, then a language model writes the findings and fixes from that data only. If a field is not available, the report says so instead of guessing.

What the tool cannot see

Apple does not publish the subtitle or the 100-character keyword field through its public lookup, so those two are never scored from real data. Google Play screenshot counts are read from the page and are approximate. Neither store exposes conversion rate, impressions or keyword rankings. For those you need App Store Connect, the Play Console, or a paid ASO tool. This score is the part of the audit you can run on a competitor as easily as on yourself.

How to use the score

  1. Under 45. The listing is costing you installs you already paid to attract. Fix the title and first three description lines this week, then screenshots.
  2. 45 to 70. Normal for an app that has not been through an ASO pass. Work the fixes in the order the report gives; the top three are usually the title, the first screenshot and rating volume.
  3. Over 70. The basics are in place. Gains now come from A/B testing screenshots, localising the top five markets and a ratings prompt at the right moment in the app.

Run the tool on the three apps that rank above you for your main keyword. The gap between their scores and yours is the shortest list of things to do.

Questions people ask

Can I score a competitor's app?

Yes. Any public listing works. Scoring the three apps above you for your main keyword tells you what they do that you do not.

Why does it ask for my email?

Each report costs us to run and we send you a copy so you can share it with a developer or designer. We do not add you to a sequence.

Why can it not see my keyword field?

Apple keeps the keyword field private. It is visible only in App Store Connect. The report scores what the public page shows, which is also what your users see.

Is the score the same as my ranking?

No. Ranking depends on downloads, velocity, ratings and keyword competition as well as the listing. A strong listing converts more of the impressions you get; it does not create impressions on its own.

How often should I re-run it?

After every listing change, and once a month otherwise. Ratings and update recency move the score without any edit from you.

What happens after the report?

Nothing unless you want it to. The report ends with a link to talk to ApsteQ's app growth team. Most people take the fixes and do them in-house.
